One Important Thing to Know Before Your First Cut

The WEN 3650 is a nibbler-style shear — it removes a strip of material approximately 3/8" (0.375") wide as it cuts. This is not a zero-kerf tool. Account for this material removal when marking your cut lines, especially on tight fits where every fraction of an inch matters. Mark your cut line on the waste side of the material — the strip that gets consumed by the shear is the portion you are removing, not the finished edge you are keeping.

Pro tip from Greg: Start slow. Press the pressure-sensitive trigger lightly to begin your cut at low speed, get the blade seated and moving in the right direction, then increase speed as you move through the material. Starting at full speed on the edge of a sheet can cause the tool to jump or wander off your line. A slow start gives you a clean, controlled entry every time.
